Access to the programme
Open admission.
Quota reserved to non-EU students residing outside Italy: 20 seats, of which 3 are reserved for Chinese students living in China, under the Marco Polo Project.

Admission requirements
To access the course, a previous suitable background is required. Each programme requires specific knowledge, which the student should have before enrolling the university in order to attend the course successfully. This knowledge may be verified before enrolling.

If the result of the test is negative, the student can enroll, but they receive a supplementary required exam (OFA), which means that the student must fill any gaps in their background through specific activities organized by the University.

Admission with international qualification
Applicants with international qualification must have obtained a secondary school diploma after having completed at least 12 years of schooling. The preliminary evaluation of the qualification is mandatory. Procedures and deadlines are available on the dedicated online platform.

Course overview
This Bachelor's degree programme provides students with a thorough theoretical and experimental knowledge in the field of planning, development and management of systems for information generation, transmission and processing and for data statistical analysis.

Occupational profiles
Graduates may operate in the software production and data analysis sectors, within both manufacturing companies in the field of information systems and processor networks, and organisations, local authorities and laboratories using complex information processing systems and methods.
Graduates may have access to the professional licensing examination to register on the Italian roll of information engineers (section B).

Attendance
Open, though laboratory attendance is advisable to prepare exercises and projects in order to meet the theoretical and practical learning outcomes of the degree programme.

Examination assessment and graduation
Learning activities comprise taught courses, workshop-based projects and trainings/internships so that students can acquire a broad range of competencies, both theoretical and practical, that are transferable to the world of work, as well as life-long learning skills.
Learning outcomes are verified by means of written exams, oral exams, assignments, project reports, presentations, and group as well as student-teacher discussions.
The final exam, which is assessed by a supervisor, consists in the preparation and discussion of a paper/thesis after a period of training or internship.
